STEM Scouts is returning to HES this Fall reorganized and restructured in order to optimize your children’s learning potential. The Hebron Pre-K – 6 Education Foundation with the assistance of the Hebron Public Schools and the Boy Scouts of America would like to offer students in grades 3-6 the opportunity to participate in a sixteen week STEM Scouts Program. Your children will be able to shape, tinker, explore, & make during their time with STEM Scouts. This program will open their eyes to the wonders of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
There is a $200.00 fee per child payable upon acceptance into the STEM Scouts Program. There will be two sessions offered to students split between grades 3&4 and grades 5&6 with twelve students accepted into each session. Sessions will be held from 3:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays on the following dates:
October 11, 18, 25, November 1, 8, 15, 29, and December 6
January 17, 24, 31, February 7, 14, 28, March 7, & 14
Applications will be distributed in the “Tuesday Papers” folders and need to be returned to the school by September 18th to the attention of “Hebron Education Foundation-Tina Blinn”. Fee is not to be provided at time of application submission only when students are accepted into the program. Children accepted in to the program will be contacted through e-mail by October 1, 2017.
GHS’ Open House with be hosted on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for Kindergarten – 2nd Grades.
HES’ Open House will be hosted on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 6:15 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. for 3rd and 5th Grades.
HES’ Open House will be hosted on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 6:15 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. for 4th and 6th Grades.
The first day of school for the HPS District is on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. First bell rings at 8:15 a.m. with children needing to be in attendance by 8:30 a.m.
Your children will have the opportunity to meet with their teachers and see their classrooms before school begins on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. HPS District will have its annual “Meet & Greet” for both elementary schools on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. HES’ will be hosted at 8:15 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. and GHS’ will be hosted at 8:50 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
HEF Board members will be meeting on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 to review grants received by the Hebron Public Schools staff. Hebron Public Schools staff will be notified of the grants that were approved on May 1.
The Hebron K-6 Education Foundation unveiled its new website design. IT Consultant, Joel Custer, and HEF President, Tina Blinn, worked together over several months to bring to the community a website that is user and device friendly. Go on, take a look at it. We hope you are impressed.
STEM Scouts will be at HES’ “Meet and Greet” on Monday, August 29, 2016 from 12:00 – 12:30 for those children who are interested in registering in the program.
Hebron Education Foundation awarded HES Principal, Kate Uriano, with a $2,300.00 grant to be used towards equipping its S.T.E.A.M. room with educational tools focusing on the science, technology, engineering, arts, and math disciplines.
